Vintage Camera Gear was founded by me: Bernd Siegel, master photographer and Leica enthusiast from Wiesbaden.
Classic Cameras:
A lifelong fascination
My love for photography was practically pre-programmed: My great-grandfather, my grandfather, my mother, and my father were all passionate professional photographers with their own photo studios.
So it’s no wonder that I started exploring the technology of old cameras at the age of 15 and building up a collection of special camera models.
Even then, Leica was one of my specialties. And to this day, I am fascinated by the classic technology, in which there is always something new to discover.

It’s clear that photography also shapes my entire professional life: In my own photo studio in the heart of Mainz, I have always loved the intensive and personal contact with my customers.
In around 38 years of self-employment, I have learned that one of my strengths is finding a solution for every challenge and every customer request – and that I find it easy to always put my customers first.
Parallel to my work as a photographer, my fascination for Photographica led me to meet numerous collectors and dealers from all over the world, who brought me to my buying and selling business Vintagecameragear.
